Had a Mexican cruise planned, but the hurricane in Sept 07 had us diverting to Catalina Island, San Diego & Ensenada. Was a little dissapointed but Carnival made the best of it for those of us who decided to take the cruise anyway. Met a great couple onboard and had a fantastic time! Food was great, the activities onboard were fun, they did their best to make up for not making it into our original ports of call. The activities were a blast! Played bingo quite a bit but the most coveted item was the "Gold covered plastic Ship on a Stick"! Had a balcony and wouldn't go on another cruise without a balcony! Had our breakfast ordered in every morning and ate on our balcony, sat out there at night and looked out at the moon on the water and were even able to see dolphins one night! My husband got to perform as Garth Brooks on the last night of the cruise. Catalina Island - walked around the town, did some shopping, enjoyed the local scenery. San Diego - walked around the little shops, went on a ship museum, then enjoyed the rest of the day onboard the ship by the pool. Ensenada - went to La Bufadora then our guide took us to a little restaurant and had bucket of beers with our friends. Tip: go off the ship to book your La Bufadora excursion, it ends up being cheaper for you than booking onboard the ship.
