Spring 2009 trip back to Punta Cana to stay at the newly opened Majestic Elegance. A local had told us a couple of years before that Majestic Colonial was one of the best resorts on the beach so we booked this one. It is a nice resort, but not up to standards for the high rating it has. Service and food quality was ok, but not fantastic. I toured the Paradisus Punta Cana while I was there and it was amazing! We'll go there next time. If you go to Majestic Elegance and are traveling without kids, definitely upgrade to the Elegance Club! Beachfront buildings and private beach area and pools. The bartenders will take your orders on the beach and deliver your drinks to you. They were great!
